People usually flood our email with questions like, "How do I start my own website" and "just tell me where to go, so this is a super quick compact guide to where to go. These resources are hand picked and we don't make a dime referring you to these companies. Recommendations are based on excellent customer service and reliability. So, here we go.
1. Domain Name: First off, we really don't recommend GoDaddy for hosting. They tend to cause headaches for people in the e-commerce area of the web and they tend to lock some options, but registering a domain name is cheap through GoDaddy so we recommend you go through them. Start your own website now and get your domain name. Visit GoDaddy
2. Hosting: We really like Host Gator for it's low cost and tons of options unlike others I won't mention ;) Perfect for those just starting a website. They have a feature rich cPanel and very reliable hosting. Customer service is top notch and well worth it. Visit Host Gator
3. Blog: Once you have your domain name and hosting taken care of, you can have to make a decision between a standard html website or a blogging system. The advantages of Wordpress is that it's easy to maintain and there is no coding involved. If you just want to post information, news, or start a personal website, Wordpress is a great choice. If you plan on selling products, I suggest you skip Wordpress and get a trasitional website or non-blogging platform. Visit Wordpress
4. Web Traffic Reports: Google Analytics is a tool to analyze your traffic data. It's very important to track visitors to see which pages are being visited the most. This is especially important if you are starting a business and/or selling online.
